I have come to the frightening conclusion
that I am the decisive element.
It is my personal approach that creates the climate.
It is my daily mood that makes the weather.
I possess tremendous power to make life
miserable or joyous.
I can be a tool of torture
or an instrument of inspiration,
I can humiliate or humour, hurt or heal.
In all situations, it is my response
that decides whether a crisis is
escalated or de-escalated,
and a person is humanised or de-humanised.
If we treat people as they are,
we make them worse.
If we treat people as they ought to be,
we help them become
what they are capable of becoming
that I am the decisive element.

Wow...how's that for amazing insight!
'the orchard' is a fictional place that I created as a constant source of inspiration for me - and in turn this is the intention of creating this blog for others. It's about sharing my journey and experience of creating this little business and sharing what comes up for me in life as well.
It will be a source of inspiration in craft, creativity, community, the environment, travel, education & cooking....essentially the areas in life that I'm passionate about and committed to making a contribution in!
At the moment I am developing a community project that combines my desire to contribute to theatre, education and the environment. This project is about generating inspiration to make a difference. Essentially I want to engage primary school children through a theatre performance with an enviromental message. I want the performance to create an awareness of their environment and the impact they have on it...to spark their imaginations & have fun while learning! Theatre is such a powerful medium for connection, learning & insight, & I believe the opportunity opened up for kids at school with exposure to the sort of performance I want to create, will ignite their imaginations and plant a seed of awareness to the impact they have on their surroundings.
If you have any feedback, suggestions or would like to find out more about this project please let me know!
